evtonic3
Is there such a capability in AD/AP?
HVDB Photography
Ctrl+shift+N in AP Quote Affinity Photo 2.3.1 Laptop MSI Prestige PS42 Windows 11 Home 23H2 (Build 22631.3007) - Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80GHz 2.00 GHz - RAM 16,0 GB
Alex_M
Ctrl+shift+N in AP I think he was asking how to cut a part of another layer and paste it into a new one. Ctrl+shift+N will only create a new empty layer. Evtonic3, to do this in Aphoto: 1. Make sure the layer you want to cut from is a "pixel" layer, not "image" or "curves" layer. If it's not a "pixel" layer, rasterize it. (right click on the layer and then "Rasterize..." 2. Using the marquee tools select the parts of the image you want to cut out on a new layer. 3. Press CTRL+J Let me know if this worked. :) Quote Affinity Photo 2.4.2 for Windows ◾ OS: Windows 10 Pro x64 ver. 22H2 ◾ CPU: AMD Ryzen 7950X 16-core ◾ RAM: 64 GB DDR5-6400 ◾ GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 3090 Suprim X 24GB / driver 526.98 ◾ NVMe SSD Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB ◾ Monitors: 2x Eizo ColorEdge CS2420 24"

360dp
Hi, I'm new to Affinity and don't find "New layer via cut", or "new layer via copy" (PS equivalent)

Altarior
Layer via copy is Ctrl + J (this also duplicates the whole layer(s) if you don't have a partial selection) Unfortunately, I have also been unable to find a "Layer via Cut" command. The fastest workaround seems to be Ctrl + X (cut) followed by Ctrl + V (paste). It should paste the cut part into a new layer by default. Not a big workaround, but I still wish there was just one solid command for this to match Ctrl + J (maybe it could be Ctrl + Shift + J), but oh well.
