David Cantor
Hi There I'm on the Affinity Trial Period and liking what I see. My question relates to Profiles In the File 'sub-list', we have Import ICC Profile In the Document 'sub list', we have Convert ICC Profile and assign ICC Profile Can anyone explain what the difference is in these three options or point me in the right direction? Thanks David
Staff Lee D Posted February 22, 2017 Staff Share Posted February 22, 2017 Hi David, Welcome to the forums. The option on the File menu can be used to easily import an ICC profile into Affinity Photo. The profile is stored within Photo and isn't available to other apps, it also adds the profile to the Convert and Assign ICC options on the Document menu and the Soft Proofing adjustment. Convert allows the current profile to be converted to another and you can Assign a colour profile as you create a document or at any point during the session. The lists are made up of profiles available to both OS and the app. David Cantor

anon1
my approach to create a reasonable simple explanation for color management in AP/ AD is available here on the forum https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/33820-color-profiles-management-eg-srgb-adobergb/?p=165094 maybe this gives you further insights, cheers :)
PaulSelden
I do not seem able to import an ICC profile. I click on Import ICC Profile, then navigate to where the profile is stored. Even after a complete restart of the Mac (OS 10.12.5), the profile never shows up in the list under Assign ICC Profile, Convert ICC Profile or in the export dialog. Can you help? Thanks, Paul

PaulSelden
That still does not work. I have the profile I want to use both in /Library/ColorSync/Profiles and also User/Library/ColorSync/Profiles. I have clicked Import ICC Profile..., but it still does not show up in the Assign ICC Profile, Convert ICC Profile or in the export dialog.
