karo
Hi, I have a question regarding the working area (Mac version). How can I fix the object / drawing area and stopping it from moving around whilst my finger moves over the mouse? Thx.
Staff MEB Posted February 16, 2017 Staff Share Posted February 16, 2017 Hi karo, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) There's no way to turn it off. If you are using a surface mouse like the Apple Magic Mouse, the surface touch area is used to control the panning of the document. It the beginning it takes a little to get used to it but then it all starts getting easier. The panning (or zoom depending how you set the Preferences in the program) on regular mouses is controlled by the mouse wheel. karo
Thanks for your quick answer. I think I need some medical motoric check-up. This drives me crazy  Am I the only one who has problems with this feature? I cannot see the advantage for usability. Would it be a bad idea to implement a turn off switch in the general setting with the next update? You mentioned the choice to switch to zoom function. Where can I find it? Staff MEB Posted February 16, 2017 Staff Share Posted February 16, 2017 No, you are not the first one reporting this. There's a couple threads about this on the forum. I also had trouble with it in the beginning. Nowadays i'm so used to it and find it so practical i think i would miss it... You can find the setting for the zoom preference in Affinity Preferences ▸ Tools section - Use mouse wheel to zoom. Feel free to create a feature request for this if you think it's important in the corresponding section.
