Very slow startup

Recommended Posts

Hi ThiloL,

We have made improvements in the past for startup speeds and I think it is an ongoing task for development. Can you tell me roughly how many fonts you have installed as this has been known to affect startup times.

Hey ThiloL,

I wouldn't say 1,000 fonts is a lot as we have definitely seen users with a lot more than that. Some fonts can cause issues and we have seen it in the past. Could you try moving half the fonts from your font directory to a folder on your desktop and see if anything improves. You can then try putting those back and moving the other half to another folder.

Your PC setup is more than adequate so I wouldn't assume that is the issue.

I decreased the fonts to 200 - Affinity Photo startup time: 12 seconds

with about 1000 fonts - Affinity Photo startup time: 29 seconds

It's all slow.

And now?

Is there a debug log to see what's going on?
