First example of focus stacking

Hi All,

Bellow is my first example of a focus stacked macro using AP. It took only 8 photos to get all in focus that I was interested in.

Only slight modifications were needed to remove a bit of ghosting and I did have trouble with the reflective parts of the metal (due to the flash).

I was surprised how well it seemed to work without too much re-touching, so I'll have to try a few more difficult examples soon :)

I've been  waiting years (decades!) for focus stacking to use with macro photos. The problem now is my camera's "manual" focus is actually a manual control of the focusing motor, not a direct control of the lens itself. It's very difficult, if not impossible, to creep up a millimetre or less at a time. Time to buy a new camera, maybe?

Hello Kasper-V,

You need three tools camera, software Affinity Photo and a camera adjustment slide, which is important.
Manual Focus on the next point to the subject then with the camera slit always go one step further to the back of the subject, manual exposure is compulsory., That's it.
