LeviA
It would be nice if Affinity Designer could save as an adobe illustrator file. This would overcome the big advantage Adobe has over Affinity, usability. Most people (sad but true) still use Adobe. If Affinity could save as AI, like it can PHD...it would be a big help. Hokusai
LeviA, This isn't possible, it is something that has been brought up many times but something that is beyond what the developers can do (as Adobe owns .ai and it isn't an open format). LeviA
It is possible. They somehow got the PSD file extension, so to say it is impossible, is hard for me to believe. They should do exactly what they did for PSD...except with AI. Or find a way to keep text editing in a PDF save
Alfred
It is possible. They somehow got the PSD file extension, so to say it is impossible, is hard for me to believe. Although AD can read and write PSD files, it can't write editable text to PSD. They should do exactly what they did for PSD...except with AI. Or find a way to keep text editing in a PDF save Just as you can open an AI file which contains a PDF stream (i.e. a file which has been saved as "PDF compatible") you can rename a PDF file from *.pdf to *.ai and AI will be able to open it. Text in a PDF exported from AD should remain editable as long as you haven't applied any bitmap effects that force it to be rasterized.
