nod74
Hello, can someone explain me why there are Asstes and Symbols, wouldn´t it make sense to only have assets with the functionality of symbols? R C-R
Assets are global -- they are available for use in any AD document. Symbols are document specific instances of something that can be synchronized such that an edit to any one of them is applied to all of them in that document. Staff MEB Posted February 9, 2017 Staff Share Posted February 9, 2017 Hi nod74, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) That would imply that each symbol would also be an asset and as such available for any project/file you may open in the program which may not be what you want. For example, you can have a symbol that you wish to use in a specific project (for a specific client) - like a logo - to take advantage of the symbols functionality but that you don't want to keep as an asset for future use in other projects because it's only relevant for that project. B-Mouse
I am creating a lot of company collateral. Packaging Graphics, Web Banners, Logo-tags, etc. However, the logo is still being updated. Is there a way to make an asset, placed in several different files, update like a symbol?

Create a single document for the company and use artboards for each individual project. CanRau
