JDP
I keep the Affinity icon along with other applications in my Mac OSX dock. When I mouse over the icon, the file names of photos I've worked on are stacked above the icon. How can I clear this and/or make these file names not visible from my dock? R C-R
At least for me, I have to click & hold on the Affinity dock icons for the list of recently opened files to pop up -- just mousing over them does not pop anything up. I don't know of any way to clear that list -- I think it is a built in feature of OS X rather than something Affinity does (at least I have many other apps that do the same thing). It isn't the same as the "Open Recent" File menu item, & often includes files that can not be opened because they have been deleted. Staff MEB Posted February 9, 2017 Staff Share Posted February 9, 2017 Hi JDP, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Go to menu File ▸ Open Recent ▸ Clear Menu. This should also clear the files listed in the Dock. It will then be filled again as you work in more files. Also go to OS X settings, General section and set the number of Recent items to None on the dropdown on the bottom, but i don't remember for sure if this also keeps the list on the dock clean. R C-R
Go to menu File ▸ Open Recent ▸ Clear Menu. This should also clear the files listed in the Dock. That works (at least usually) but it would be nice if there was some way to either clear the Dock list independently of the Open Recent menu list, or at least update the Dock list so it matched the menu one. I don't know if it is a quirk of my system or what, but while the Affinity Open Recent menu is 'smart' enough not to show deleted files, the Dock one is not, so it often lists files I have recently deleted. Choosing one of them from the Dock list does nothing (as one would expect) & the "Show Recents" Dock menu item just shows a missing file icon for them. I assume this is some quirk of OS X rather than Affinity, so I do not expect this to be anything Affinity can fix.
