Boolean operations grayed out?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys - newbie here again,

Trying to do a very basic operation by 'intersecting' 2 overlapping circles in order to create a simple 'leaf' shape.

The Help instructions seem clear to me, except that all but 1 of the Boolean operation icons are greyed out and I cannot activate them. Additionally, in the Layers menu, all the manually accessed functions such as Add, Subtract, etc are also greyed out.

What, this time, am I missing?

Thanks in advance, I appreciate the help greatly.

-Christo
