tomn
In the Draw Persona I have several arbtoards of different sizes. One artboard is 20x20 px. However when I switch to the export persona, the slice is 21x21 and is a little off from the original artboard. When I try to resize the slice I can either: 1) by dragging one of the sides of the slice make a 20x20 slice, which is a little bit off from the artboard boundaries. 2) make a 19x19 slice which is too little 3) make a 21x21 slice, which is too big. The snapping does not allow me to make a 0.5 px move. Holding option key while dragging the slice to ignore snapping does not seem to work, there is no effect. Currently the only solution I have found is to select the artboard, copy it, and make a new file from the clipboard. But it is quite tedious taking into account the fact, that I have many artboards in one file. How to make a 20x20 slice aligned with the artboard in a "normal way"? R C-R
Keep in mind that when exporting to pixel based file formats, everything in the file must align on whole pixels. So for example, if a layer has a 20 x 20 rectangle with a 1 pixel stroke aligned to its center, it is actually 21 x 21 pixels, with each of its edges extending ½ pixel into an adjacent pixel's position. So on export, Affinity compensates for that by shifting & rounding so the stroke fits into whole pixels. Something similar happens for anything near the edge of a slice, which could include the tip of path where its curvature & stroke thickness extends partially into an adjacent pixel position. tomn 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.
lvl99
My expected behaviour of exporting an artboard is that the slice should match the artboard size, not the artwork size in the artboard. If my artboard is 100x100 and the artwork is 101x101, then I want the slice to be the artboard's dimension. tomn
