charlesblyton
Hi, I am having an issue where any colour I select with the eyedropper tool or when I select a colour in any swatch, the colour that is applied will be a grey. I cannot get any colour to be applied with any tool. Selecting any colour (such as blue /red etc) will result in an equivalent shade of grey being selected. I cannot work out what I have done to make this happen! Please Help! Charles Affuser1
Staff Lee D Posted February 2, 2017 Staff Share Posted February 2, 2017 Hi Charles, Welcome to the forum. Check to see which colour profile is active, Document > Colour Format it sounds like Grayscale is selected, switch to RGB and the Colour Picker should work. Jared3813
I'm looking all the place for "Colour Format," but it's not here in Affinity Photo! I can't get my Affinity Photo back to RGB, no matter what I do. Just started doing it this morning. Affuser1
Old Bruce
Try Document > Convert Format / ICC Profile... or Assign ICC Profile... Quote Mac Pro (Late 2013) Mac OS 12.7.4 Affinity Designer 2.4.1 | Affinity Photo 2.4.1 | Affinity Publisher 2.4.1 | Beta versions as they appear. I have never mastered color management, period, so I cannot help with that.
Johnnofred
I have the same problem. I have an image which I scanned in greyscale. I want to recolour it. I have tried what you suggest, but still no sign of colour being applied.
Wosven
If you scanned in grey scale, the image will stay grey. Changing the profile (to RGB or CMYK) will permit to use colours in the document, but you'll have to apply them where you want them.
Johnnofred
Thank you! I was trying to use the recolour function, but I needed to move it up to the top of the layer stack!
