Matthew
Which tool would you recommend for drawing crop marks in Affinity Photo? Thank you.
Staff MEB Posted January 31, 2017 Staff Share Posted January 31, 2017 Hi Matthew, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Do you now you can add them automatically when exporting to PDF clicking in the More button on the Export dialog? If you need to add them manually you can use the Pen Tool and some guides (menu View ▸ Guides Manager...) to help you position them with precision. Matthew
Thank you, how do I stop each pen stroke going onto a separate layer?
Staff MEB Posted January 31, 2017 Staff Share Posted January 31, 2017 Those are not layers in the traditional sense. They are objects and are listed as such in the Layers panel - check the label between parenthesis after the layer's name in the Layers panel - paths are identified as (Curves), shapes are identified with the shape name (ex: Star, Rectangle) etc. To create a traditional layer to organise your project press the Add Layer button (third icon counting from right) on the bottom of the Layers panel. It will be identified as (Layer) in the Layers panel, then drag the objects over it, to place them inside that layer. Matthew
Thank you however I can't seem to see an add layer icon. It goes: Edit all layers, Mask layer, Adjustments, Layer effects, Group, Add pixel and trash.
Staff MEB Posted January 31, 2017 Staff Share Posted January 31, 2017 Hi Mathew, Sorry my bad. I forgot you were talking about Affinity Photo. That button (generic vector layer type) is only available in Affinity Designer. In Affinity Photo you can group them, if you wish (CTRL + G). You can still access all the objects individually selecting them from the Layers panel (click the small arrow inside a circle on the left of the thumbnail to expand the layer) or double-click the object on canvas to "enter" the group and select that object. All other objects of the same group can then be selected with one click.
