You can use the Pen Tool to draw a line (to use as a guideline) then lock it in the Layers panel. We may also implement a few additional ones (not planed initially) in certain cases - like the light interface or brush stabilisation in the upcoming v1.6 - but overall the roadmap should give an idea of what we are aiming for. I know there's also a few grids/guidelines improvements coming but i can't give you a definite answer about diagonal guides as i have no idea, sorry. I mirrored your setting but still no change .....In the past, when I use the Pen tool and press Shift and click I'd get a straight line, but now I get the diagonal line...I'm wanting to restore the normal setting of a perfectly straight line.
