PDF import problem.

Recommended Posts

The main thing I'm seeing here is that it uses a font that I don't have installed, so it's reverting the font to a default to display it. I'm guessing that the PDF export from Latexit does not have the option to convert the text to curves?

"The main thing I'm seeing here is that it uses a font that I don't have installed": if the PDF displays without any problem in any PDF reader on any OS, which I assure you that my original submitted PDF file does, Affinity should be able to import it and display it correctly. Some other vector apps on the mac can import it, no problem.

Affinity doesn't currently support embedded fonts in PDF files. Most vector apps on the Mac also don't. Illustrator has recently offered to convert text that use embedded fonts to outlines but again that's not a complete solution.

All PDF viewers will obviously support embedded fonts but don't support editing.

Affinity will support embedded fonts in the future but it's a big piece of work.
