Raymondo
Just found what I think is a bug, I had not noticed it before. Just taking a simple two ring and putting one part of the ring inside the other like the Olympic rings does not show right using the divide function. In illustrator, if you use the divide function to achieve this it all looks fine, however in AD it leaves white hairlines as shown in the images attached. Surely it should not do that. Also I would again mention something which I have done on several occasions and that is the importance of a shape builder function within AD. The importance of this function has up to now not been taking seriously by the R&D team but if you are a designer you will appreciate how useful this little function is in Logo creation, it saves a lot of time. I'm flagging this up again now! Ring AD 1.tiff Ring AD 2 whiteline.tiff Illustrator rings.tiff

Hi Raymondo, For my part I do not get this phenomenon, even by zooming. It may be an optical effect that will not be printable.
Raymondo
Hmm! That's interesting. Not that I think it should make a difference but are you using windows or Mac version?
PixelPest
That seems an anti alias issue. I won´t use divide BTW but subtract a doubled open ring: Cheers P. IntersectingRings.afdesign

I also do not get rows using two closed rings and an open third. No lines either by subtracting a shape.
Staff MEB Posted January 26, 2017 Staff Share Posted January 26, 2017 Hi Raymondo, These hairlines/seams are a side effect of the rasterisation routine. Please check this post from MattP (one of the developers) for additional info.
