Problem importing RAW file into Develop module

Recommended Posts

This problem has only just started it seems. When I import a Raw file it is very underexposed compared to looking at it in any other software - see attached. You can see the difference in the histogram compared to the in camera version.

I'm shooting on an Olympus giving .ORF files

All files are the same they appear about a stop to a stop and a half under exposed. I've tried changing the RAW engine to Apple but can see no difference.

Personally, I see nothing so wrong within the persona window.

The histogram is at the left because the recorded data contains, as

I see it, no or very little high keys.

The camera back screen is not showing a preview I would be

happy with… pretty irrelevant as, mainly, the histogram is more

revealing than the preview, and iIt clearly shows  that no values are

too low or too high for the DR.

The difference in width of the histogram between the camera's and

AP's tells me that AP is capable to work with much greater dynamic

range than your camera does!

The other thing is that the preview has value only for compositional

considerations and focusing control in my book… though, with my

high end bodies, these screen renditions are much better.

Your second screen shot tells me that you have a decent RAW file to

work with and that you should not worry!

Go for it!
