New to photo editing - How can I combine multiple photos is Affinity Photo.

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have looked through the tutorial videos and probably missed something, but I'm looking at how I can combine photos in Affinity Photo.  I want to get multiple pics of my kids into 1, I'd also like to use multiple pics to create better versions.  so using different skyline etc.

Thanks

Mick

Hi Mick,

Create a canvas large enough to accept your final project.

Then…

  • open all files beside the canvas or
  • import all images in layers inside the "canvas" document

discussion is pointless.                   capturing it is NOT.               but talent renders the image.

Hi mickyboro,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

To combine multiple photos in one document, create a new document with the dimensions you want and drag the photos from the Finder (Mac) or File Explorer (Win) to the opened document in Affinity Photo. You can then use masking (and other techniques) to blend them/create a composition. If you could be more specific we can point you to some resources/videos tutorials to help you accomplish certain tasks as you move forward. What do you want to do specifically? Fade one image to another? Remove one of the kids from the background and place it over another background/image?...

Hi,

Thank you for the response and yes I was not really clear in my request, getting all the photos onto 1 canvas is pretty easy, my need is to blend/fade between the pictures or maybe have 1 picture in the background but to cut pictures of the kids out and seamlessly add them to another photo without any white glow around the edge.

I think this is produced through layers/masking etc. but I have no idea where to start.

I hope that makes sense.

Mick
