matt.baker
Fixed application not appearing in Explorer's "Open With" menu No way. I spent ages trying to get Designer to go back into the open with list thinking it was some weird Windows update thing causing the problem. Went through so many registry keys for the file types etc. Would you be able to share what registry keys fix this? I know it's not HKCR\<file extension>\OpenWithList or OpenWithProgids; or HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\<file extension>\OpenWithList. I'd love to know for future reference. Highly recommended open source screen capture software (useful for bug reports). https://getsharex.com/

I'd love to know for future reference. It is indeed OpenWithProgids. The Designer install never previously registered itself for any non-native file types, so if it was ever in the Open with... list for those files, I suspect it's because you put it there (e.g. via Open with.... > Choose another app). matt.baker

Jonopen
Yes, that is an impressive list. Good to see the bolts being tightened, cogs oiled and engine tuned, before moving on! ;-) Something that I have noticed with both the current version and this beta is, if you don't have Affinity Photo installed and try to edit a selected raster image using the option 'Edit in Photo...' under the File menu, the file closes without warning. v2.4.1 Designer/Photo/Publisher | Mac mini (M1, 2020) | Sonoma 14.4.

Ah, someone else posted this but I didn't understand the context until you said 'if you don't have Affinity Photo installed' - thanks! It should probably be greyed out. I'll look into it :) Update - We have reproduced this now Jonopen, thanks. It will be passed over to development. Ah, okay. I must be doing something wrong. For some reason I can't get it to show in the immediate "Open with" right click action on Windows 10, but it shows under the "Choose another app" dialog as one of the first entries in the MRUList (without having to browse). I've tried manually adding Affinity.Designer to the OpenWithProgids for both the Explorer\FileExt and the ones in HKCR. biscuit
Hi, The beta version just suddenly crashed while scrolling through the font list. Didn't create a crash report.
rubs
Good to know that some users are experiencing performance improvements! But sadly I didn't notice any difference on my side. This thread shows my setup and the tests I made. Anyway I'm glad to know you are addressing Windows performance issues already, I hope my problems are solved soon.
