Healing Brush Has Disapeared

has anyone an idea why the icon for healing brush disapeared after using it for 10 seconds?

It might help to know if you are using the Mac or Windows version & perhaps a bit more about how it disappears, like if it does that while using it, after selecting another tool from the same tool palette group, or what.

 

But just guessing, I suspect you are not aware that some tools are accessed from the same tool palette icon (any of them with a triangle in the lower right corner). Click on the triangle or click & hold on the icon & the other tools pop out in a list. This can be changed by customizing the Tools palette (View > Customize Tools...).

Also just guessing, but I suspect the same. Such tools usually (always?) share the same keyboard shortcut by default, so if you press that shortcut repeatedly you will cycle between the tools in the same groups (instead of toggling to the last selected tool, as you would for a shortcut which is unique to the current tool).
