Staff MEB Posted January 12, 2017 Staff Share Posted January 12, 2017 Hi predick, You just need to have Force pixel alignment checked from the beginning. You can untick Move by whole pixels. If you are still getting non-integer values can you please upload your document using this link so i can check what's going on? Thanks. predick 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
predick
It happen when the object sizes are odd numbers (the green one from my file). The even number run correctly (the yellow one). snapping.afdesign
Staff MEB Posted January 12, 2017 Staff Share Posted January 12, 2017 Hi predick, I can only reproduce this when you are trying to align an object to the centre of another with an odd width. In this case Affinity cannot pick an integer value for obvious reasons. Other than this it seems to be working as intended. Moving the green object freely on the page only picks integer values for me. How do you have placed the green object (Y coordinate) in that place? Where you aligning it with something else? Do you have Snap to grid enabled in the Snapping Manager and are using a grid that allows half-pixel positions? predick
Yes, Snap to grid have enabled like my screenshot and it happen both if I check and uncheck 'Move by whole pixel'. I have just drag the green normally to place it in that place. Please try drag it again obliquely to test it.
Staff MEB Posted January 12, 2017 Staff Share Posted January 12, 2017 You have to disable Snap to grid otherwise Affinity will also pick half-pixels (when using automatic grid). If you want your objects aligned to the pixel grid (integer) values, Force pixel alignment is enough. predick 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
