Pietro345
Was I wrong to expect that a native Serif file-type could be imported into Affinity Photo?
Staff MEB Posted January 10, 2017 Staff Share Posted January 10, 2017 Hi Pietro345, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Affinity Designer and Photo are new programs written from scratch. They don't share any code neither have feature parity with legacy Serif apps so we can't directly translate/import those formats to Affinity without some loss. Exporting to a common "generic" format like PSD, SVG or PDF (depending on the Serif program you are considering) will give you a similar result (again with some loss). Pietro345
Thank you for your reply, MEB (muito obrigado). As there was a very clear family likeness in the desk top elements and arrangement in Affinity Photo to Serif Photo Plus, e.g. layers and filters etc., I thought the file types might be compatible or transferable. Maybe you will find other users migrating from Photo Plus and Draw Plus??? Good luck anyway with the new software. Is there a recommended, least lossy, transfer format - apart from RAW of course?
