Customer Beta is no longer valid

Recommended Posts

The only way I know of is to check the News section of the forum - https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/forum/4-news-and-information/ there's a post from Patrick Connor announcing the new build - 1.5.1 and there is a link to the initial announcement - https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/30631-affinity-designer-151/

It's best to check back with the News section often.

There’s a patch? How do we find out about it, and where do we get the patch from?

What Chris means is that the customer beta is identical to the retail version that you can download fro your Affinity Account page.

Thank you, though I’d be surprised if most Affinity users were even members of the forum. It would make more sense for the software itself to check it automatically every so often and/or have an option to check for the latest version from the Help menu.

Anyway, I have version 1.5.1.43. Is it the latest? Because the announcement only mentions 1.5.1, but not the fourth number.

Our Windows build numbers do not follow the Mac build numbers, but like the Mac side there is only ever one release for each released patch. The last number is quoted but there won't be two (you will not get a 1.5.1.nm AND a 1.5.1.xy both as released versions of the same application).

There will only be ONE 1.5.0 release build and only ONE 1.5.1 release build of Affinity Designer for Windows, and at some point there will be only ONE 1.5.2 release build to the public. The Public Released app will only prompt to patch 1.5.1, 1.5.2, 1.5.3, 1.6.0, 1.6.1 etc.

As it happens 1.5.0 Release of Designer was actually 1.5.0.36 but you can just call it Designer Windows 1.5.0

As it happens 1.5.1 Release of Designer was actually 1.5.1.43 (the same number as the last customer beta) but you can just call it Designer Windows 1.5.1

We will do some more builds and betas testing 1.5.2.a & 1.5.2.b & 1.5.2.c customer betas before Designer Windows Public Patch 1.5.2.x is released, called Designer Windows 1.5.2 for short.

You do not need to install the beta builds unless you want to check a fix out before that fix is available as a public release.

Additionally some users do not appreciate that Photo and Designer are independent products, and the numbers aren't in sync. (Photo Windows 1.5.0 release is 1.5.0.45 and 1.5.1 will be build 53 or higher)
