hammarbytp
In Photoshop I can view which part of the mask is affecting the image via a Rubylith overlay. While you get something similar in quick masks is there a method of viewing a overlay at any point (i.e not a quick mask)?
Staff MEB Posted January 9, 2017 Staff Share Posted January 9, 2017 Hi hammarbytp, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Currently only Quick Mask and Refine Selection lets you view the masks as a Rubylith overlay. You can see regular masks as greyscale images pressing ⌥ (option/alt) and clicking the mask's layer in the Layers panel but there's no way to see them as an overlay. Feel free to add a request for this in the Feature Requests section. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
hammarbytp
Thanks for the response. It is not a show stopper, but I will not waste any more time looking for it. Thanks for the response
Walter McQuie
Thanks, this helps me a lot. I prefer the greyscale representation to a red overlay. You can also right click on a mask icon and choose edit adjustment to get a grayscale representation, but it doesn't work for adjustment and filter layers, only masks. I'm a little surprised that there's no toggle available--apparently you have to click on another layer and then the layer you're working on to get back to the image.
