I've tried some very simple selections and they work but more 'real world' selections seem to be crashing.

I've attached an example which is a small crop from a larger image.

Would love to know if this is an issue or it's my machine as I've just upgraded it.

Thanks

Hi verysame,

It's an exported selection. So to test...

File - New 6x5 ish

Select menu - Load selection from layer

(in the dialogue select the file)

It should load the selection and show marching ants, just crashes on my machine

Thanks for help

Regards

Let me try...

Hm... it's working fine here.

This is what I get:

I'm on the 1.5.51 as well.

Oops,

Yes, it seems you've got an issue with your build.

I always see the moderators asking for the crash log...

Sorry, wish I could help more :/

No problem, thanks for the reply!

What version did you load that up to I tried 1.5.1.51 beta and it errored

Just tried 1.5.0.45 release and it worked ok

Now I could have sworn I tried 1.5.0.45 earlier and it didn't work maybe it's old age or it's way past my bed time!! oh dear time for a whisky  :)

Anyway I'm definitely getting a crash with 1.5.1.51

Thanks for your input, most appreciated

Regards

Hi HarryM,

I've just tried your selection on my machine and as verysame has reported I cannot reproduce it either. Would you be able to zip up the contents of %AppData%\Affinity\Photo\1.0 (Beta) folder and attach it to this thread. Also if you could also attach the afphoto/JPG/RAW file that you are trying to load the selection into that would be helpful.

Thanks.

Hi Sean,

The zipped 1.0(Beta) folder is 700 MB could you provide an alternate upload please?

I've uploaded the project and selection file though.

Incidentally, strange that uploader doesn't let you upload a .afselection file, had to zip it.

Thanks

Regards

Harry

That did it! I can reproduce it with your AFPhoto file so I shall get that reported. Thanks for attaching those.

EDIT: It looks as though RGB/16 files are causing it to crash. If you use RGB/8 then it will not crash.
