Hi Everyone, Just had a question maybe I am missing something.. In the windows versions of Designer and Photo I noticed there are no templates, especially in Designer.. for websites, and various different items like dvd cases etc.. Does anyone know if Affinity is going to include this in updates?  Love the programs it would just make life easier to have things to immediately work from rather than search the internet for templates..  You guys did a great job on the software please keep it up!   :)   Ed5

Hi Ed5,

Both apps have various size presets for screen sizes, devices, page/photo sizes for you to select. You can also create a custom sized document for a DVD case for example and then set guides to let you know positions where the spine folds will be. More presets may be added in the future, you can always request them in our Feature Requests section of the forum.

Hi Ed5,

Select the shape you created and want to keep, save it in the "contents" of the "studio". You can create categories in which to insert your drawings. I'm sorry but i do not know the exact titles of the tabs in English, I use the French version of AD.
You can then reuse your shape by dragging it on your drawing.

Thanks I got it into a new category I just need to make it so it opens a a actual template to original scale.. Say like a youtube background template.. I want it to be able to be the actual size so the work I do will actual fit when uploaded.. Just mentioning the YT background for example..  But I do appreciate being able to save a shape.. That helps too..  :)

In AD, you can save an entire Artboard as an asset. If you create a new AD document of any size without the "Create artboard" option checked, & then drag & drop an artboard asset onto the canvas as the next step, it will automatically replace the canvas with the artboard, retaining its dimensions (& any guides it includes, too).

So for example, you could create a DVD template in an artboard, add it to Assets, & use it as above. You may have to change or set document units to whatever ones you prefer, but it is still a very quick way to get what you want.
