Photo and Designer 1.5 kill iTunes

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

Sometimes when closing Affinity Photo 1.5 after resource-intensive work or when creating new high resolution files (ctrl+N), iTunes quits unexpectedly.

I haven't had this issue before and it only occurs using Photo 1.5.

Hardware used: 2015 Retina Macbook Pro, 16GB RAM, 2,8GHz i7

Software used: OSX 11.6

Is this a known issue?

Best wishes,

Yes, I thought so!   :D

Got some news on this. It still persists and I could find some info from the console.

However, I don't know whether or not the info is useful.

While at first this issue seemed to be connected only to Photo, it is in fact happening with Designer, too.

Also, this problem doesn't seem to be connected to a resource intense workload after all.

I just had Designer running in the background without even anything opened.

I haven't done anything in Designer before I quit the application.

When I decided to quit Designer, because I didn't seem to be needing it for a while, iTunes quit again.

This time, though, there was no error / warning message or notification.

Maybe it has something to do with the time the process is running?

I took a look into the console, which included the following lines for the moment iTunes quit:

04.01.17 18:21:37,863 iTunes[1124]: _UnsubscribeForMuxNotifications (thread 0x700000ad0000): returned 0x0.

04.01.17 18:21:37,863 iTunes[1124]: AMDeviceNotificationUnsubscribe (thread 0x700000ad0000): returning 0x0 on notification reference [removed reference].

Can this be fixed? It's really inconvenient, even dangerous to data when for example iTunes quits while doing device backups or something like that.
