Hi,

Can you tell me what is going on? AD Beta for Win is expired, and APh Beta for Win 1.5.50 is not working.

Hi Petar

Beta builds are only regular when we are in a beta cycle. After a release it can take a bit of time to produce something with enough features or fixes to warrant the start of a new cycle unless there is an urgent issue to address. There will be a new beta, but only when we feel comfortable to release one. I can only ask that you be patient

Hi Chris,

The team seemed more responsive and provided more objective answers during the beta cycle. After the last version, however, the answers are sparser. I miss the beta cycle!

Thanks for the feedback anyway.

Well... IMO, they were, from what I know of a team/company developing something, "over responsive" (said in the most positive way).  IMO this ratio is much more usual, a team needs a lot of time to develop! (and the rest of time to check and feed their family, lol ) If you think in many, many other companies making 2D and 3D software, commercial and open source, this one easily wins the golden world cup of responsiveness, even now (in the beta times, a super platinum whole universe cup, maybe....). And all that for fully professional (just a bit young, yet), complete applications, permanent license sold for one time purchase, free updates, and no subscriptions, for 50 bucks. Ouch. They are ignoring us in the forums by only posting 40 posts a day ....How dare them!...--> Friendly, joking tone, don't worry. "Didactic" tone, I guess.   ;)

I've never complained about their responsiveness on the forum. They spoiled us offering every week a new beta version. But, there is over a month since last beta, and it not works any more.

Why do you care so much about the Windows beta expiration if the product is already fully released? Just buy it and use it without any limitations.

I have a feeling that you only used it because it was free. No offence.

If you just want to test betas, then you will have to wait patiently. However, from what I can gather, the new beta will be available for customers only, so you will have to buy Affinity Designer (if you haven't already) to test them anyway.

I already have both -- Photo and Designer. I want betas because I use them for work and they have some new features and bug fixes.

Then my advice would be to generate your own workarounds while waiting for A or B bug fix or update. Be patient in the middle... Is what I've done since always... Probably am too used to open source, where this happens a ton more than in commercial, and what is more, they are not forced in any possible way, like in the commercial apps world, as they often don't need to cover the entire feature set of an specific niche. I have to say, is rewarding, very, once one finds those workarounds. And even is more rewarding when, after that, at some point your fav app gets the feature itself, and then you can leave your more time consuming workaround. In the process, you have learnt twice of what you would have. This is how I learnt Blender since many years, till now (when is much more of a full fledged package). I'm saying this while I'd normally see it as not necesary: I do when I hear people asking for the urge of more updates... Suggesting it as a fine solution. (I yet to purchase Photo, though...AD purchase was fast and problem free. )
BTW, nice machine.

@SrPx:

Thanks for your advice. And yes, the machine is NLO. Blazing fast, quiet and stable.

BTW, I started using Gravit (free of charge). I love its interface, it's dealing with palettes and tons of options.  :)

Here are three different formats of simple drawing in Gravit. PDF and PNG are OK, but Designer does not open SVG properly.
