Noon Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 I'm a new user for Affinity Photo. I've bought it today and started using it. My problem is that I can't find the text tool on the left bar along side with the brush and other tools. I found all the text editing dialogue but I can't type to begin with. Quote
Fixx Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 It should be there right between pen, rectangle and zoom tool. Notice that there are 2 versions selectable, art text and text frame. Quote
R C-R Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Noon, you might try selecting the "Customize Tools..." item from the View menu (it is next to the last item on that menu) & looking for the text tool icons in the panel that pops up. There should be three of them, a "Frame Text" with a triangle in the corner that is the combined Frame & Art one followed by a pair for each individual tool. Drag which ever of these you want onto the Tools panel at whatever position you want. Madame Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 Or.. if you are in a different persona than photo persona, there will be no text tool. Quote - Affinity Photo 2.3.0 - Affinity Designer 2.3.0 -Affinity Publisher 2.3.0 MacBook Pro 16 GB MacOS Sonoma 14.1.2

Staff MEB Posted December 20, 2017 Staff Posted December 20, 2017 Hi RobertSkot, Welcome to Affinity Forums Click the small arrow/triangle in the corner of the Text Frame tool (the icon is a "T") to open a pop-up where you can pick the Artistic Text Tool (with the "A" icon). Check the screen capture below for reference. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
GmanTerry Posted August 23, 2018 Posted August 23, 2018 I found this thread because I had the exact same problem on my Mac. My problem was that when the program opened, it didn't open 'full screen' and the bottom of the app was cut off. After opening the app in full screen the missing bottom two icons, including the text tool became visible. Quote
ktheaker Posted December 23, 2020 Posted December 23, 2020 I am having the a same problem there is no T on the left hand side. I cannot find the text tool either. Quote

Try following: https://ibb.co/277QnfC MODS... picking @Patrick Connor as a mention... This is more than annoying... happens in all the browsers all the platforms (Linux, macOS, Win) so it's not a browser issue. Copypasting smaller images (not gifs) directly to the post are sometimes works, most of the time doesn't. Certainly never works with animated gifs. ktheaker Posted December 26, 2020 Posted December 26, 2020 Thank you sooo much for the help on the text tool! Quote
