I started by using Designer to build the vector shapes of the hat, and filled the shapes with gradients. In Pixel persona I used texturizing brushes (from Frankentoon) for tinting and shading. Some additional lines, smooting and adding noise was done in AP as well as lighting. The seamless integration between the two programs makes me just love them...

Thank you "retrograde" and "Aammppaa" for commenting on my hat,

It was my first attempt to try out vectors + bitmap to see what was possible. It is just a test and it really looks "stiff" and a bit boring. Anyway, I was convinced that I can manage both Designer and Photo to make some good illustrations. The tools Affinity Designer and Photo adds to my designing arsenal are second to no other... So, I recently signed out of my Adobe CC subscription that I have had all since it was introduced. I don't really need it any more.

Thank you Adobe, it has really been a pleasure to use all your software, I really mean it! :)

I am moving on now - into the Affinity land...

Wow! I'm enjoying AP and AD's brushes a lot, and I think your illustration is a perfect example of how powerful they can be.

Also, props on deciding to cancel your CC supscription. The more of us move on, the better. This way, Affinity can get its place in the professional market.
