[APh] Have the Average filter consider selections

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I use Affinity Photo's Average filter often to equalize slight color variations of areas in the image that are supposed to be of one single color. The problem is that with an active selection, though the area affected by the filter is limited to the selection boundaries, the average color is still calculated from the complete layer. I expect the Average filter to work differently here, meaning that it should give me the average color of the selection, not the average color of the layer.

I can of course work around this by first copying the selected pixels to a new layer, but this obviously means an extra step for me.

Any thoughts on this?

Cheers
