Spell Check

Hi,

 

In AP, if I type a made up word, or spell a word a little funky - I get a distracting red dotted line underneath.

Is there any way to permanently turn this off? I looked in the preferences, but couldn't see anything relevant?

Well, that’s actually pretty easy. Go to Text > Spelling > Check Spelling While Typing, and make sure this option is unticked …  :)

Never thought of looking there - I went straight for the preferences.

FWIW, almost every Mac app that has a Text menu item has this option. For many others, it is a sub-heading in the Edit menu.

An alternative is to change the text language to None in the Character panel. That way you can disable it for just the made-up words while keeping the spell check for normal text.
