inquire
I've used Photoshop for 10+ years, and I have PS brush sets that I have bought. Might they work in AffinityPhoto? If I want to install one or more of them to test, how do I go about that? Is it just go to Brushes, and pull down the tab to Import Brushes? Or, should they go in a separate folder, named something like Photoshop Brushes?
Richard S.
inquire, Click on the hamburger menu in the brushes panel and create a new category, then select import brushes and import them into this new category. If memory serves me correct - this should work just fine :) Quote High-End Photographic Prints
inquire
Thank you. Oh, and equally important, if I decide I want to get rid of them, do I just "Export Brushes"? Or does that just send a duplicate of the brushes out? Is there a way to delete any brushes that remain in the application?
Richard S.
If you imported those new brushes into a new category, (which hopefully you did), you can delete that category from the same hamburger menu - however - ensure that the new category is selected in the dropdown menu, AND that only the newly imported brushes are in that category, otherwise you will lose the pre-installed brushes !!!!!! ambiroa
Also, if you import the .abr as a bundle, they will automatically be inside their own category bearing the name of the file. So myawesomebrushes.abr imported, will create the myawesomebrushes category with the brushes inside.
R C-R
Within a brushes category you can control-click (or the equivalent in Windows) on any brush to get a popup menu of several options, one of which is to delete the selected brush. inquire
OK, thank you for the information. One think I don't understand: DesignMeister wrote If you imported those new brushes into a new category, (which hopefully you did) . . . How does one create a new category? color-fan-tastic
Hi folks! I tried to import PS brushes that appear as .tpl files under tools in the Presets of Photoshop instead under brushes. Is it possible to import them into Affinity Photo? Thank's for the help!!
