Affinity Photo and Styles

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Could someone give me a quick run-through on how to create these styles? There are options for Import Style and Export Styles but I cannot for the life of me find any information on how to create them?

I have a lot of .asl styles from photoshop as well as their source pngs for textured styles. How would I go about either converting them to the AP equivalent so I can use them or starting from the textured pngs make a style I can use in AP then?

Thanks for the help,

Frankster

Frankster,

Create your shape / object, then add your desired effect(s). Ensure your shape / object is still selected -  then go to the styles palette and click on the hamburger menu (4 lines) - then simply click on "Add Style From Selection".

I could be wrong but I do not think it is possible to directly convert PS styles to AP styles. It will probably be better to recreate them in AP.

Hope this helps.

Hi DesignMeister,

Thanks for the tips! Got me started, thought I'd put this here in case anyone else looks for it in future.

I had to create a shape, then add a gradient and from the gradient tool select the Type: Bitmap, the pic the graphic fill the shape with it. Then was able to use the right click Create Style. Worked perfect.

Thanks for the help!
