Hi,

Could someone please tell me what the equation filter is for?

From this forum, it seems that it is used to create grain in images. Is the the only intended purpose for that particular filter, or can it be used for other effects?

Would be great if a tutorial video could be made, which fully explains the possibilities for this filter.

I have watched one tutorial on the filter, but it doesn't really explain possible uses, apart from creating rings and grain.

Thanks again :)

Evidently it allows one to input mathematical functions as parameters to filters via the interface. Think of it as a built in version of Filter Forge (see https://www.filterforge.com). However, without a solid math degree or ample documentation, it won't be of much practical use to the ordinary user. That being said, those who do figure out how this feature can be leveraged will be able to produce interesting macros that will mimic many of the "must have" filters that we buy today.
