chill59
Forgive my ignorance but what exactly are 'macros'?
Staff MEB Posted December 9, 2016 Staff Share Posted December 9, 2016 Hi chill59, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Macros are a set of steps you record to automate a task, which you then can play later so you don't have to do them manually everytime you need to perform it. In Affinity Photo this can be used to automate several processes/tasks you use frequently. Take a look a the macros included in the Library (menu View ▸ Studio ▸ Library). Right click on one of the macros - for example Black & White - and select Edit Macro so you can see the steps it performs. The Macro panel will open showing you all the steps listed: in this case it applies a Black & White adjustment and then merges it down. Check this video tutorial for more details. R C-R
Great video; awesome implementation. Aside from that, I don't like this new feature at all. MJSfoto1956 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.
MJSfoto1956
Being able to re-use oft-repeated steps not only is a huge time-saver, but is what separates pro software from toy software. More importantly, it is the key tool that will allow you to create your own "version" of the tool that is optimally suited to your needs.
