Weird behavior after 1.5 (grayscale/16 TIFs)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

after the 1.5 update I opened some files I was using lately and they look super-weird: the image look WAY overexposed/washed-out.

In the attached files you can see the AP screen (histogram completely pushed to the right)... as a reference the Preview screenshot shows how the same image should approximately look like.

Is that related to the now standard use of 32 bit?

All of this did not happen before 1.5

One more thing: would it be possible to skip the Develop persona when opening TIFs from scans I made (as it was before 1.5)?

1.5 forces me to use the Develop module and to work in RGBA/32, then - when I move to the Photo persona - it changes (again) to RGB/16...

I want to keep grayscale/16 from start to finish in my workflow... 1.5 is really messing with how I want to proceed.

Sadly I have to report that 1.5.1 does NOT solve my problems, which include:

  • corrupted/unusable .afphoto files for ALL images in grayscale (99.9% of my work) see this post
  • compulsory use of Develop persona for TIFF files in Grayscale/16 (vs. 1.4.9 normal behavior)
  • washed out/overexposed/messed  TIFF files in Grayscale/16 (vs. 1.4.9 normal behavior)

As it is, the program is now 100% unusable for me. Is there any way to roll back to 1.4.9? I have a backup from last week...
