I meant that I was reading through all the threads and I could not find a solution. I got it from https://affinityrevolution.com/installing-macros/ watching the youtube on how to install macros. I didn't rename the file. I was just trying to install the macros that were provided as an example. Thanks for clarifying that. Sorry, that file imports just fine for me, following the instructions in that video. I'm not sure what else to suggest. JPC
Basically, at the moment, the best way to import macros on windows is to drag and drop it onto the program. Since it obviously recognizes the format automatically this way, why Affinity can't just register itself as a handler for these files so you can just double-click and done I don't know. Please can we please have this please?

This is one of the ways it can be done on Macs (as long as it is an afmacros file). Are you saying that does not work on Windows? jVh
Yesterday I was able to install Affinity-Photo Macros in breeze, today the same macros is grey out so Affinity-Photo will not open it. What is this... Anyone knows? Thanks.

You shouldn't do that and mix file extensions, there is a difference between a macro exported/imported from the Macro Panel in contrast to macros exported/imported from the Library Panel. - If the orginal had the extension ".afmacro" it was intended to to be used by the Macro Panel and not the Library Panel which uses ".afmacros" (the plural here). Sometimes both file extension types are offered (like here Matte Color Macro) and you can download one for reusage on the Macro Panel (aka the .afmacro file) or the Library Panel (the .afmacros file). jVh 1 Quote ☛ Affinity Designer 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Photo 1.10.8 ◆ Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 ◆ OSX El Capitan ☛ Affinity V2.3 apps ◆ MacOS Sonoma 14.2 ◆ iPad OS 17.
jVh
IT WORKED! You are my man. Thank you so much. I was not aware of this "little" nuance in import. Anyhow, thank you one more time. Cheers *J

FWIW, it is not the only place in Affinity where the plural form makes a difference, most notably in "(Curve)" vs. "(Curves)" layers. jVh 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.
