savagecorp
Go into the paragraph panel, and see if "After Paragraph" is set to something. That might help with what you're looking for.
Husbandman
Go into the paragraph panel, and see if "After Paragraph" is set to something. That might help with what you're looking for. After paragraph creates a space between the paragraphs. This is exactly why one need to have force line break, to break a line without creating the space. It is specially nice for hanging indents such as bullet point or numbered list. Quote Macbook Pro 13 (Mid 2010) - Web Designer

Husbandman
Control-Return, or Edit => Insert Character => Line Break. One of the things I love about Designer is it stand way of doing things, but this one is totally off, because every program I have used, Mac or PC has used shift-return. Anyway it is there. Anyway it is there. Control-return is used by TextEdit, Mail and Pages. It's the OSX standard. Pages supports shift-return as well. I'll see if we can add support for both. MikeW
On a PC, column/frame breaks are done with the number pad enter key in most all layout applications.
