Convert Spline path to shape

Recommended Posts

It should be noted that the 'Expand Stroke' feature needs some work, as it currently produces far too many nodes. You can improve the results a little by repeated use of the 'Smooth curve' button on the Action toolbar.

Slightly off topic, I would be interested to learn how you achieved that sharp corner in the middle of your shape. As you can see from the circled part of the attached screenshot, I got a rounded corner when I tried to draw the same shape.

I may be missing something, but if all you want is to convert the path from a brush to one with a regular stroke, why not just change its style in the Stroke Studio panel from a 'texture line style' (the last icon that looks like a brush) to a solid line style (the second icon that looks like a diagonal line)? You can then set the stroke thickness to whatever you want.

Alfred, try this - increase the value of this setting

Thanks. Changing the "Gehrung" setting ("Mitre" in UK English or "Miter" in US English) has the desired effect. :)

I may be missing something, but ...

I think what you're missing is that the OP wanted to convert the path to

an area / shape .. with the size of the brush

But doesn't changing the width of the stroke effectively create an area of that size? I am not sure why it has to be a filled shape.

I'm not sure, either! I guess it all depends on what the OP wants to do with it. :)
