DavidW
This is not an Affinity problem but others may have it and I was hoping someone might have some insight into it. In Affinity and other editors and browsers when using color management (turned on in each application) I am getting a strong yellow hue. I noticed this when I started a new document in AP (and ACDSee, Corel PSP9, AD) and it had a yellow background not white. Same in other applications until I turn off color management then the background turns white. I cannot figure out how to turn off color management in AP. I know there is something I don't understand here but I could not get my printer and monitor to look the same until I turned off color management, then I got good correspondence between monitor and print. This shouldn't be, color management was developed specifically to get the same results between devices. I'm missing something.
afx
Your screen profile seems to be off. Re-profile your screen and make sure that the new profile is set to the active profile in Windows. cheers afx You just have to live and life will give you pictures. – HCB
DavidW
So here is some more info. I did re-calibrate my monitor and can toggle it on and off in any application so I know it's active. I took a photo of a white, black and 18% grey card using flash, set with a flash meter and a custom white balance. When viewed in all the applications I have available the color cast looks identical, very consistent, BAD. When I turn color management off it looks correct. However in Affinity Photo and Designer I don't see how to do that. I've played with Edit - Preferences - Color Management and anything I do there doesn't do jack with what I'm seeing on the monitor, i.e. heavy color cast, BAD. If I go to Document - Color Format and change the format of the document to LAB, CMYK or Grey Scale it looks correct but any RGB color mode has the same color cast, BAD. But regardless of what the document color format is or how it looks on the monitor if I don't touch the color, it prints great (probably because I used a custom white balance and was very precise with my exposure). What's going on here? I need professional help, a color management intervention of sorts. Someone who knows this stuff please come to a fellow photographers aid. How can I turn off color management in Affinity Photo and Designer or better yet make color management work across all applications?
