RAW Conversion - Soft & Darker Colors

Recommended Posts

Hi,

The RAW conversions of Canon images is particularly soft and colors come out darker that they should. You can see there is a noticeable difference in sharpness in Affinity Photo to Capture One Pro and the colors seem to have a hue shift.

Note that the softness is more pronounced in 5DsR images as in the smaller upload, where you can also see the color difference.

Yes, I see something similar.

Attached is an image opened in Canon's own Digital Photo Professional:

This is the same image when opened in latest beta of Photo:

There is a noticeable difference, even to my old eyes!

Long-time user of Serif products, chiefly PagePlus and PhotoPlus, but also WebPlus, CraftArtistProfessional and DrawPlus.  Delighted to be using Affinity Designer, Photo, and now Publisher, version 1 and now version 2.

iPad Pro (12.9") (iOS 17.4) running Affinity Photo and Designer version 1 and all three version 2 apps.
