glazer
I am using the new Workbook and in several places it instructs to enter particular values for the color HSL. However the only way I have found so far is to use the colour wheel and this is difficult to do if one wants to set precise values. Is there some way in which one can actually enter the HSL numbers? Staff Callum Posted December 2, 2016 Staff Share Posted December 2, 2016 Hi Glazer, Welcome to the Forums :) I'm not too sure if I am looking at the same place as you are in the book but it should be possible by clicking the Hamburger menu in my first screenshot and then choosing sliders :) Once you have done that you will need to change the drop down menu in my second screenshot to HSL. I hope this helps! C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
glazer
Many thanks. That was very helpful. I found it as you say under Sliders. I am surprised that this can't be done from the colour wheel panel, after all it does report the actual HSL values.
Madame
If you double click in the swatches (the small circles) you can type in the values in the dialog box. R C-R
You can also double-click on the large color wells (like for foreground & background or stroke & fill) anywhere they appear & a huge Color Chooser window will pop up. It has large versions of the wheel or color display, but it also has always present numeric fields for RGB, CMYK, HexRGB, & HSL -- 14 total! One place or another, there are many ways to enter color values numerically. :) Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.

You just said it so much better than me. ;) (My native language is not English, and I'm also struggling to find the right "tecnical" therms.) glazer
Sorry but I dont understand what these "large color wells" are that you refer to. Can you post an image illustrating this?
R C-R
Madame, I owe you an apology. There is nothing wrong with your English. When I read your post, I failed to notice you said "small circles" so I thought you were talking about the square color samples in the Swatches panel. An example is the large orange circle just below the word "Colour" in Callum's second thumbnail in his reply to you.
