AD 1.5.3 immediate crash when trying to export

Recommended Posts

The graphics file I tried to export as a whole was 5.8MB, contained only a few layers, one artboard. The crash is consistent, every time. When I Save As... and make a copy, same story. The newsly saved .afdesign files crashes as well when trying to export as a whole. The only workaround I found was going to the Export persona and export a slice covering the entire artboard. Def a bug.

I have this same issue on 1.5.4. Computer is new MacBook Pro touchbar 13".

  • Started working with an older file.
  • Made text change
  • Exported (worked once)
  • Made another text change
  • Export crashed immediately
  • Recovered to original version of file
  • Export crashed immediately
  • Uninstalled/Restarted/Reinstalled Affinity Designer
  • Export on same file crashed immediately
  • Opened another older file
  • Export crashed immediately
  • Created new file
  • Export crashed immediately

Went to another computer (iMac) running 1.5.4 opened same original file and exported fine.

Hi Lazybrook,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

Create a new document, draw something on it then go to the File ▸ Export and change the Area dropdown to Whole document and export it. Then try exporting your original document again. Let me know if it solved the issue. If not press and hold ⌃(ctrl)[/b while launching the application (keep the default checkboxes checked) then select Clear from the dialog that will appear to reset the app.

If you still have trouble after this can you please upload your file using this link so i can take a look? Don't forget to add your forum's username (@Lazybrook) to the file so i can identify it. Thanks.
