Shape Builder Tool

Recommended Posts

I would love to see a Shape Builder Tool in Affinity Designer.

As a Graphic Designer I use the Shape Builder tool more than anything when working with illustrations in Illustrator.

It is far more convenient and faster than the pathfinder tools in my opinion even the divide function. That is one thing that is hindering me while using this program when having to create complex illustrations with an ease.

If anyone doesn't know what the shape builder tool is, it is a tool that lets you combine and/or subtract shapes or lines that are selected with a line you draw through the objects with that tool.

Here is the Adobe Tutorial Video of it: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/how-to/shape-builder-easy.html

Would really love this tool.

Hi jdeal96,

I am not familiar with Illustrator so sorry in advance if i misunderstand what is the shape builder tool. As much as i understand with this video it looks like Geometry Tool of AD. Can you play with them to see if it does what you want?
