tommca Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 I recently purchased Affinity Photo 1.4.3 and the Layers panel isn't visible - see attached image. How do I enable it? Quote
Staff MEB Posted November 30, 2016 Staff Posted November 30, 2016 Hi tommca, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Go to menu View ▸ Studio ▸ Layers to enable it. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
chepp Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 I have the same problem with Photo2. In Photo Persona I pull down the Window menu and can click on various items such as Adjustment or Styles and the chosen item(s) show a tick mark and appear in a panel to the right. When I pull down the Window menu and click on Layers the tick mark appears to the left of it but there is no Layers panel. Where is it? Quote

Where is it? Try resetting the panels: Studio > Reset Studio. Resetting the studio puts panels back to their factory defaults. After you’ve set up the panels how you want them, you can save your workspace: Studio > Add Preset. chepp 1 Quote Windows 10 22H2, 32GB RAM | Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 (MSI/EXE)

Based on the answer to the original post (for 1, not 2), and before I posted my query, I pulled down the View menu but didn't see it. I searched for Studio in the online Quickstart. Quickstart doesn't give a clue about how to find the Studio menu (see screenshot above). Using the Help-Search in Photo2 menu I found that Studio is under the Window pull-down (see screenshot below). It includes the unintuitive advice to see the panels by clicking Hide Studio off. Thanks for advising to select Reset Studio. Still, that results in what looks like the Histogram panel with a tab for color. Not very noticable is the Layers below it, along with tabs for other items. Thanks, too, for advising that I make a preset for the Layers panel. Still, it doesn't help much. With just an image visible in Photo2, when I want to pick a layer to edit I have to do this: Window > Studio > Layers Panel [my preset name]. To me, that is NOT user friendly. Instead, I should be able to do this: View > Layers. Quote
