Start up delay

Did a search and could not find an answer to this, so my apologies if it has been covered before. On my system AF 1.4 launches in less than five seconds whilst all the 1.5 betas and both RCs take 25 seconds. OS 10.12.1 Late 2015 5k iMac. Will this behaviour be improved in the production release?

That's odd. I get the same startup time on both MAS and beta versions. Has this been happening for a while or is it just with the recent RC's?

No, it has been happening with all the Betas and RCs. 1.4 is fine though.

You can try doing a ctrl runup to reset the app. It seems to have done the trick in some similar threads. This will reset the app and remove customisations so I'd recommend watching this quick video which will run over what you can backup manually before resetting it:

 

Just hold ctrl down when you launch the app and click Clear.

 

Does the startup speed increase if the app has already been opened?

Thanks Chris, that did the trick and start up is superfast now.

 

Previously the start up time was long even if the app had been previously opened since starting up the iMac.

Ah that's good to know. I think the apps just get a bit bogged down with all the data it stores and reads when running up so a good old clear out normally does do the trick :)
