Hi jimalbro

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

You probably installed them correctly but can't find them in the program. The DAUB Inkers can be accessed thought the Brushes panel in Draw Persona (click the dropdown on the top and scroll to the bottom of the list). The remaining four can be accessed through the Brushes panel in Pixel Persona. Can you check if you have them there please? To change to Pixel Persona go to menu File ▸ Personas ▸ Pixel or click the second icon on the top right, below the menus.

No need to feel like a dummy! There are several threads about this, so it's obviously a common problem. (I got caught out by this too, but the other way around, because I happened to be in the Pixel Persona when I imported those DAUB brushes: I wondered why the Inkers were missing.)

Hi jimalbro,

Affinity Designer has two different brush engines: one vector based (currently less developed) that's used in Draw Persona and another raster based used in Pixel Persona and in Affinity Photo (our RAW conversion/developer and photo editing app). Most new users aren't aware of this so it's natural they think something went wrong. We all have to start somewhere, no need to feel dummy as Alfred said :)

Glad to know it's all sorted out.

Perhaps the message text could be expanded to specify the type of brushes that have been successfully imported. :)

On a revisit, I see that it does actually tell you the brush type, but you have to be alert to notice it! It would be more obvious if the message indicated which persona you need to be in before you can use those brushes.
