danlab
I have just purchased Affinity photo 1.4.3 for Apple/Mac on the App Store. Having read that version 1.5 Beta with HDR was available for download here, I downloaded a copy. When I try to open it on my iMac I get the following message. The message is in french and translated it would be: A commercial copy for Affinity Photo must be installed in order to use this Beta Version. Affinity Photo 1.4.3 is open in the background with the splash screen visible. Note that the 1.5 Beta version splash screen opens but nothing goes further. (see screen shot attached) When I click OK, I am taken to Apple's web site where Affinity Photo is described and then to the App Store on the Affinity Photo page where I can see that I have already bought the 1.4.3 version. What can I do to have access to the Beta version ? Thank you. Daniel Labranche QC. Canada
Staff Patrick Connor Posted November 25, 2016 Staff Share Posted November 25, 2016 danlab, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) You must have the Mac App Store version in the root of the Applications folder. If you have moved it to a subfolder it will not be recognised by the Beta. If you are running the latest Mac App Store version (1.4.3) in the root of the Applications folder and it still asks for the retail version, then this work around works for most... Move both apps to the trash, then redownload from the Mac Store first, then install the latest beta.
