AP • Early Morning Birds at the Marsh

Kodiak

Recommended Posts

Having a boring corporative Christmas event to shoot

that day at 10:30, and since I was up and ready quite

early, I went to the close by marsh to see the sunrise.

I had a good (but too short) time with the light and the

birds though most foliage is down. Cold, crisp, clean air

granted me some cool light conditions.

As always, 600mm ƒ4 @ ƒ8 on D810 combo.

Have a look, have a good time!

C&C welcomed…

Hello Kodiak,

Absolutely astonishing shots especially the one of the swan on photo one. It really reminds me to the commercials of the Dutch KLM back in the nineties: www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxo15o4MSxY&t=59s

Thanks for sharing this with us.

Regards.

BTW I just came across Affinity as an alternative for Photoshop and started in this forum to get some feeling about the community.

This already is a very good start :-)

Oh, WOW! Wish I could get such awesome shots! I really like the #1 and #4 shots! Great work!

Don't give up… it'll come!

Yes, #4 is an example of the theme of last week

master class I offered and hosted in the area:

— don't be afraid to crop your subject, bird or else,

if it serves the final purpose of a shot!

Keep rocking!

Thanks for your comment!

I am not processing my work through Affinity — not that

far yet — but use it only for pixel editing in a very limited

manner: healing and cloning (brilliant tools!) out elements

in the photographs that do not contribute positively to the

visual quality of a given scene.

Yes the swan is exceptional. You are a swimmer beyond the shallows, you explore where others dare not go (look at me, you've turned me all poetic like). Great work throughout this set. You capture the light so well as a result of understanding it more than most of us. Bring us more maestro!

you do have a way with words   but absolutely correct. Exceptional work from an exceptional photographer. I think number 8 is my favourite out of this tip top set.

What lovely bird photos. My favourite is number 8. Really sharp and clear in every detail. I will check out more of your photos...

C & C how ?  Just a reverence....!   :o

WOW! I know it's been said but nothing else needs to be added. Very impressive both visually and technically.

Thanks all of you!

My contributions to this "heavily dominated by designers forum"

is, most possibly, an intrusion in your sphere of competences and

talents. My motivation, however, is based on the knowledge that

photography is also part of the visual arts; though I can't hold a

pencil, I am better at holding a camera in my paws!.

Cheers gentlemen.
