I have been attempting to create arcs of various given lengths and radii without success. I have drawn a circle with a desired radius and then attempted to slice off all but the arc desired on the circle without success. Is there a way to draw an arc of a given radius without winding up with a closed region. (I don't want an arc with the chord joining the endpoints of the arc to be visible.) Any suggestions will be appreciated. This work is with Affinity Designer.

You can use the Node Tool to break the closed curve at each end of the chord, and then select the chord and delete it, but I don't know of a way to avoid drawing the chord in the first place.

If I understood you correctly, try this: (see attached file).

I hope this will help you.

I forgot: first choose the tool "ring" by developing the shapes in the toolbar on the left. (Attached file: ring tool)
